Thank you for your interest regarding headshots at Jane Weitzel Studios.
Jane has returned to Vancouver safe and sound from Europe and India and better for her extensive journey into seva service, karma yoga and her personal practice. The "Yoga for World Peace" sadhana tour was successful; teaching many along the way. While in India, Jane taught asana class each day to a far-reaching worldwide collective of students, each on their own path of self-discovery. So you can imagine the high level of inquiry and exchange going on. Jane faithfully coached, counseled and collaborated yogis each day as well as witnessing her own practice taking her deeper and deeper. It is no surprise for some to hear that upon returning to Vancouver a few shifts took place alongside some major life decisions.
It has been 30 years since Jane started a career in photography. That was fast! It has been an incredible journey, from headshots to high fashion, celebrities to chocolates, art exhibits, big studios, travel and great teams of talent. She is grateful for it all. All things have a beginning, middle and an end. It time to transition to another phase. The results and effects of sharing yoga and it's healing properties has attracted Jane to go further into teaching yoga, life counseling and providing yoga therapy. She will remain in Kitsilano Vancouver for a while to be present for those inquiring how yoga can holistically support their lifestyle. Her teaching name is Janaki. Janaki is registered Yoga Therapist with IAYT. Jane will remain shooting special photographic art projects. She is also avaialble for consultations.
A special message to all actors: Because of the quest of the actor to travel toward their inner self, Jane has consistently photographed headshots throughout her career. In order for the actor to be true to their role they must be true to themselves and dig deep to find their true nature. This quest of the actor has always attracted her. To photograph those actors who connected with her, included searching together to find that inner essence and bring it to the surface; to assist the journey of seeking the truth. "When the actor knows their true self then their acting shines; it becomes effortless and with longevity." Many actors became good friends as a result of the experience and for this Jane is truly grateful.
