10-day
Vipassana Meditation
retreats |
Vipassana is one of India's
most ancient meditation techniques. Vipassana is the process of
Self-purification by self observation, firstly by observing the natural
breath, then, with sharpened awareness observing the changing nature of the
body & mind experiencing the universal truths by direct experience. We in
British Columbia are fortunate to have a Vipassana Meditation Centre in
Merritt. Janaki frequently visits the Centre for 10-day sits and invites you
to explore this deep healing practice.

Janaki's first yoga experience,
Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Dhanwanthari Ashrama,
Neyyar Dam, Kerala, INDIA |
Winter 1998's
photographic work brought Jane Weitzel to Pakistan and India. On the way
home, a friend suggested that she visit the
Sivananda ashram in South India.
Her intention was to visit the Ashram for one week before she was to return
to Vancouver. Eight "blees-ful" weeks later, Jane still remained at the
ashram, attending classes and doing karma yoga. Eventually business called
and she had to leave the ashram to go back to Canada. Yoga was not lost -
Jane hasn't been the same since. She has returned to the ashram and India
several times, pursuing the knowledge.
Janaki is Jane's yoga name, presented to her by the the Sivananda
organization's senior
Acharya, Swami Mahadevananda Saraswati, in 1999. By the Master's and Guru's
blessings, Janaki teaches the eight limbs of yoga, in gratitude for the
wonderful guidance of Vedanta. |
